Where It Began
Connections Residential started with a simple question Mike kept asking on job sites in the early 2000s: why isn’t there an easier way to build? After years working with heavy concrete panels, he began sketching a lighter, smarter wall system that could go together cleanly and quickly.
The Breakthrough
Those sketches became fully serviced wall panels with a patented connection system, designed for fast, precise installs. The goal was simple: reduce complexity on site while lifting build quality and consistency.

Today, that same thinking sits behind our secondary dwellings - thoughtfully designed, factory-built homes that arrive ready to connect, so adding space feels simple instead of stressful. Behind every project is a small, hands-on team that cares about doing things properly from first site chat to final handover.

To create well-designed small homes that give people real options – space for family, independence for young adults, or a secure place for someone to call home.
We believe the smartest way to grow housing is to make better use of what already exists: established streets, existing services and under-used backyards. Secondary dwellings, done properly, unlock that potential without overcomplicating the site or the build.

Nick Willoughby
Director
Nick has spent the last decade in client-side project management and residential development - overseeing large-scale subdivision, townhouse, retirement living, and prefabricated housing projects across Southeast Queensland. With a background in both strategy and delivery, Nick brings a sharp focus on improving how homes are built.
Mike Willoughby
Project Engineer
Mike brings over 40 years of experience in building and construction. Having worked across residential, commercial, and remote projects, Mike knows exactly what holds jobs up, what frustrates trades, and what makes for a clean, efficient build. His practical knowledge has been key to shaping a system that actually works on site.
